The Deborah Suite, a former garage converted into guest quarters, is an exercise in small space design. With minimal intervention to the existing shell, the rooms are illuminated by thoughtfully placed skylights that reflect light off of a carved ceiling. Materials help reflect that and color into the space. A hand-glazed brick on the exterior fills in the space left by the garage doors, relating to the existing brick siding. Aluminum brake metal backsplashes occur behind a kitchenette and a desk, with an integral ledge to hold books, tools, etc.
